Software maintenance

You built it with AI at midnight. Now it runs payroll.

The tool works, and your office depends on it. You don't want to be the one who fixes it at 6am when a sync dies. We take over the keeping-it-running part, and you keep the ideas.

Sound familiar?

Owners are building real tools now. Keeping them alive is the hard part.

These are the kinds of things owners show us on calls, built on top of Housecall Pro, Jobber and their phone systems:

A payroll check against Housecall Pro timesheetsA script that marks e-transfers paidOne inbox for calls, texts and emailA voice agent that reads the scheduleA dashboard on top of JobberA scheduling sandbox for cover days

"If I think it's going to take a day, it ends up taking seven days."

An owner who built his own ops layer with AI, on a call with us

Every month

A team on call for the thing you built.

Watched every day

We get the alert when a sync stops or a job fails, usually before your office notices. You get a note when something was fixed.

Kept current

Texting, payment and AI providers change their APIs. Housecall Pro and Jobber change theirs. We update your code before the change breaks it.

Fixed, not patched

When something breaks, we find why and fix the cause, with a test so the same thing can't break the same way twice.

One small thing a month

The next feature off your list: a new report, a new rule, a new alert. Small and steady, in the order you choose.

How we take it over

Read first. Your name on the keys. Then boring.

  1. 1

    We read what you built

You share the code and a 30-minute screen recording of it running. We write back what holds up, what is fragile and what is risky.

  2. 2

    Keys move to your name

API keys, hosting, domains and databases go into accounts your company owns. We get manager access. Nothing important lives on a personal laptop.

  3. 3

    We make it boring

Logging, alerts, backups and a written runbook. Then the monthly plan starts.

Outgrown the tool and the software under it? That is a bigger move: seereplacing Housecall Pro with software you own.

Software maintenance FAQ

Not on day one. We read it first and keep what holds up. Most owner-built tools have a solid core and a few fragile spots: keys in the code, no error alerts, one giant file. We fix those first and only rebuild a piece when fixing it costs more than replacing it.

A flat monthly fee, agreed after we read your code, because a small payroll check and a full scheduling engine are different jobs. No hourly billing and no surprise invoices. If your tool needs nothing, we will tell you that instead of selling you a plan.

You do. The code lives in your repository and every account is in your company's name. We have manager access. If you stop the plan, you keep everything and any developer can pick it up.

Yes, that is most of what we build. We know the limits of both APIs, for example that neither can record a payment, so your tool doesn't get built on something that will never work.

Good. Keep building the parts you enjoy. We can own the boring half: hosting, alerts, updates and fixes, and review what you ship so it doesn't break what already works.
